Review the reason, not just the score
ICBC directs learners to study Learn to Drive Smart as well as use its practice knowledge test and road-sign practice. A practice result can help you choose what to study next. Here is a BCDLT study method: after a session, select a few answers you got wrong or guessed. For each, write the topic, the detail you overlooked and the relevant guide section. A guessed correct answer belongs in this review too. The goal is to locate a knowledge gap you can actually explain.
Use a driving scenario to expose a guess
Suppose a question describes a learner preparing to move sideways, and you selected an answer because a familiar phrase stood out. Before looking at the options again, describe the scene in your own words: where is the car going, what could be hidden and what information is missing? Open the guide's observation and blind-spot discussion and check your reasoning. Then change one detail, such as adding a cyclist beside the car, and explain whether your answer still makes sense. This is an invented study exercise, not a reproduced ICBC question.
Make the next session different
Keep a short review note with three parts: the misunderstanding, your corrected explanation and a fresh example. For road signs, consult the official illustration and explain the action it calls for; do not rely only on recognizing a picture. Revisit your notes in a later session before another mixed practice set. If studying in another language, connect unfamiliar terms to the same guide concept rather than memorizing an answer's position. Being able to explain the decision when the wording changes is a more useful study check than repeatedly recognizing the same option. This routine is a study suggestion, not a guarantee of passing.
